October 1st is opening day for Connect for Health Colorado, Colorado’s health insurance marketplace. The new marketplace, part of the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), will provide consumers the ability to shop, compare, and select health insurance that will begin providing coverage as early as January 1, 2014.
Also going into effect on October 1 is an expansion of Medicaid in Colorado, which will now cover children, parents, and adults without dependent children up to 138% of the federal poverty level (32,499 annually for a family of four).
